April 13, 2023New National Strategy for Social Businesses in Germany
September 19, 2023Congratulations to the Querétaro Energy Cluster for signing a Dual Higher Education agreement with the AFOS Foundation!
Dual Higher Education is an attractive educational model that allows young university students to obtain practical professional experience in a company or organization in parallel to their academic studies. In Germany, where this model has its origins, universities offer more than 1,700 dual majors, many of them in engineering, legal sciences, social sciences and the health sector. More than 120,000 students are currently enrolled, with a growth rate of 10.9% between 2019 and 2022. In addition, more than 56,000 companies participate in the dual system.
In Mexico, Dual Higher Education is rapidly gaining ground among companies and universities as shown in an exemplary manner by the Querétaro Energy Cluster: Its affiliated companies cooperate with universities, foundations and the federal state government to foster Dual Education for young students in the energy sector.
Thus, Dual Higher Education is not only an innovative vocational training system in itself, but at the same time an excellent instrument for training innovative specialists, who can make an important contribution to the ecological and sustainable transformation of the economy and the society in the face of climate change.
